Middle and High School Holiday Spirt Week
Each year, the Recording Academy sponsors a week in January called "Grammy In-the-Schools" which offers high school students in southern California a chance to spend time with leaders in the music industry. This year, due to the pandemic, the event will be held virtually and will feature some ensembles from Westfield High School. The McClurg Street String Band is one WACS music group that recorded a video during the class "Musician's Studio" which many of the students take. They are performing an Irish tune called "The Rights of Man", which is a tribute to the book by the same name by Thomas Paine (think history class). Also featured will be a performance by the Westwinds form this year, and our handbell ensemble from 2019 (pre-covid).

A grateful shout-out to UNION RELIEF for sponsoring this month's STAR Reading Program with the fantastic books you see here.
Thank you to our 5th graders for putting together an amazing virtual STAR Program for our elementary students. Sticking with our STAR habitat theme, they shared some really great information about DECIDUOUS FORESTS! Ask your elementary student what they learned about this habitat from watching their 5th grade friends' slideshow.
Earlier today this group of students took a brain break to play in the fresh snow!
Let's Try This Again!
