Our students attended the 14th Annual Western New York Construction Career Day that was held last week at the Operating Engineers Training Center in Lake View, NY.
Students learned from professionals in the trades about how to start a career path in a field they find interesting. Students operated back hoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, and participated in hands-on activities like brick laying, welding and carpentry. It was a great day for our students!

CTE Open House
This week, PreK is learning all about Fire Safety and Firefighters. Mr. Jake brought in his gear and talked with our students about how each piece protects them during a fire. They also learned that firefighters are there to help and to not be scared when they are in all of their gear.
Yesterday our secondary students were treated to hot drinks from Full Strength Coffee Company. Staff have been acknowledging positive behaviors with PRIDE tickets through our PBIS system. Students could "purchase" a cup with ten tickets. Thank you #fullstrengthcoffeecompany #westfieldcsd

Last week, members of our school community participated in a focus group regarding our athletic complex. We are grateful for their time and feedback. For the month of September, we would like to sincerely thank our Summer School team. This group of staff is from various departments and spans from our elementary school to our high school. Middle Schoolers had their first Builders Club meeting of the year today. They have already started work on their first service project, which is the elementary family Halloween night scheduled for October 27th. More details will be coming out about this activity for elementary students soon!
