Jarek Montalban and Bretten Shreve competed at the annual JCC College Connections Speech Contest on Wednesday.
Both students are in Mrs. Wilson's Public Speaking course and did very well competing against other local students.

Middle School Activity Night was a success!
Today we had special guest readers in to celebrate Literacy Day with us. Volunteers read some awesome books to our students. Each of the students in these classrooms received a book to take home, compliments of the United Way.
Thank you to the United Way of Northern Chautauqua for hosting this annual event. Event coordinators include the Northern Chautauqua Young Professionals and the Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth.

Our elementary students in Miss Feraldi's art classes put time, energy, and creativity into posters for this year's Prevention Works 2024 Substance Abuse Awareness poster contest. This year's theme was "I Am Not Alone In Saying No."

Kindergarten started their hula hoop unit in Phy Ed today. They'll be learning all sorts of skills and tricks over the next several classes, just in time for nicer weather to hula hoop in outside.
Today is School Bus Driver’s Day! WACS is very fortunate to have such a great group of men and women who keep our kids safe each day. They are some of the many unsung heroes at our district that allow us to operate smoothly and safely.

Ten members of our freshman class traveled to SUNY Oneonta for the New York State History Day state level competition. These students have been working on their "Turning Points in History" projects for a good portion of the year, and placed high enough at the Buffalo competition in March to earn a spot to compete against students from across New York State.
Under the guidance of Mr. Holmberg, Westfield was the only Chautauqua County school district represented at the Regional and State level History Day competitions.
